There’s Plenty Of Space For The Entire Family In Stunning New 2-Flat Condominum At Galewood Crossings
Amazing New Construction Single And Multi-Family Community On Chicago’s Northwest Side By Red Seal Homes Thrills Buyers With Great Neighborhood Layout And Perfect Floor Plan

Chicago, IL - (October 26, 2006) - When Pete and Natalie Lebron first visited The Enclave at Galewood Crossings on Chicago’s northwest side this past summer, they were so excited and impressed about what they had learned about this community, they went back that same day and purchased a home. Reactions like theirs have been typical of this stunning new construction community by Red Seal Homes. The Enclave at Galewood Crossings is located at Access Drive (1900 N. Central Avenue), just east of the Central Avenue Bridge between Grand and North Avenue on Chicago’s northwest side. Red Seal is building 187 homes on 15 acres, consisting of 17 3,000 square foot single-family homes on oversized 30-foot wide lots and 40 smaller single-family homes priced from the low $400s; 54 2-flat condominiums priced from the mid $200s; 53 27-foot wide Crossings townhomes and 23 traditional three-story townhomes priced from the $299s.

We currently have a single-family home in Chicago and wanted to move to a larger home, but because my husband works for the city and has to live in the city, we weren’t sure what kind of home we would be able to find that would suit our needs. We had been doing research online and read about Galewood Crossings. We stopped by in June and liked everything we saw so much, we went back the same day to make our purchase,” Natalie said. “We had absolutely no problem making our decision based on blueprints. We used Red Seal’s web site to give us an idea of what the homes will look like and that helped us out a lot.”

The Lebrons wanted to find a home that would suit their living scenario, which includes their three adult children that live with them. Pete and Natalie wanted to find a home with a layout that would allow their children to have their own private living space and a place that would allow them to transition to their own home once they get established in their careers.

“Pete had always wanted a 2-flat layout to allow the kids to live with us, but also have their own space. The 2-flat condominium designs at Galewood Crossings where absolutely perfect. The amount of space we got for the price point and the diversity of the designs within the community really appealed to us,” said Natalie. “I especially like the way Red Seal has created the feel of a suburban community within the city.”

The Enclave at Galewood Crossings is a dynamic neighborhood that has transformed the site of the historic Galewood rail yards. Spanning 20-acres, the 187 homes that Red Seal will build will be part of a mixed-use neighborhood that will also feature a 14-screen movie theater and a state-of-the-art Laborers’ Union Training Center. Red Seal is planning several model homes that will open next year.

The incredible small-town feel of the Galewood Crossings neighborhood that Natalie mentioned is a result of Red Seal’s careful land plan that has created a true residential neighborhood, set back from the surrounding roads and cocooned in its own private space, which will allow buyers like the Lebrons to enjoy their patios and balconies in the spring and summer.

The community has a fencing plan to create both communal and private open spaces along with a two-acre main park, which includes a tot lot with playground equipment. There are also a series of smaller parks including a dog park that gives the neighborhood a true community feeling.

Since the Lebrons needed space for five adults in a 2-flat design, they purchased an entire 2-flat home at Galewood Crossings, with 1,400 square feet of finished living space on each of two floors, plus an additional 1,400 square feet in the basement. Much of the basement will also become finished living space, for a total of 4,200 square feet of new construction within the city of Chicago.

“The space and layout of our new home will be amazing. Having two completely separate living areas really had great appeal to us. The size of each level and the open layout, plus the amenities we are selecting, like granite countertops in the kitchen and additional bedrooms in the basement, will suit our needs perfectly,” Natalie said. “My husband is so excited about what we have found at Galewood Crossings, he has been recommending this neighborhood to our friends and acquaintances, some of whom have also purchased here.”

The Lebron’s two-flat condominium features an incredible amount of space. The ground floor and second level each feature two bedrooms and two baths, a kitchen with pantry and breakfast bar that is open to the combination living and dining room along with a rear deck or patio. Each level has its private entrance and laundry closet. The master suite on each level has a walk-in closet and private bath.

In the basement, there is ample storage and options for two additional bedrooms and a lower level family room. A detached two-car garage is also included.

The exterior elevations of the 2-flat homes at Galewood Crossings feature a blend of classic Chicago style with modern touches, accented by brick trim and a dramatic roof peak on the front.

The Lebron’s three children, 20-year-old Felicia, 24-year-old Deanna and 25-year-old Pete, are all excited about their move to Galewood Crossings when their new home will be ready next October. Their home is located on the south end of the community, backing to an open green area and also close to both of the neighborhood parks.

The family’s enthusiasm about Galewood Crossings has also been enhanced by their experience with Red Seal. Natalie says the sales team is on top of everything and has kept them well informed with all the details pertaining to their new home.

“This is our third home, but our first new construction purchase. We can’t wait to move into a brand new home and have everything the way we want it. The Galewood Crossings neighborhood is beautiful and the value represented by our new home, especially for something in the city, is very good,” said Natalie.

The Enclave at Galewood Crossings is located at Access Drive (1900 N. Central Avenue) in Chicago, between Grand Avenue and North Avenue. To visit, take the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) to Central Avenue north, to the eastbound bridge exit (just north of North Avenue), east to the community. The sales center is located at 1901 N. Central Avenue and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (773) 237-8900 or visit www.redsealhomes.com.
